(Ouagadougou, December 23, 2024). The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE visited, this Monday morning, a pineapple field under experimentation at Camp Naba-Koom 2. This initiative wanted by the command of the Camp is part of the agropastoral and fishing Offensive launched by the Head of State.
While visiting this 60,000-foot pineapple field set up on a one-hectare plot, the President of Faso did not hide his joy at seeing that the army is playing its full part in the development of Burkina Faso. “The army is not just weapons. It must participate in the development of our country. We are teaching the military a lot of things,” said the Head of State during the visit.
According to the Commander of the Republican Guard, Battalion Chief Souleymane ZANGO, the personnel operating the site have undergone training with a local farm. The first harvests are expected in November 2025, according to Battalion Chief ZANGO.
In perspective, an 8-hectare space has been set up at Camp Naba-Koom 2 to experiment with coffee, cocoa, avocado and cola, said the Commander of the Republican Guard.
